building on the triangulation technique -> as a way of creating a sense of motion that connect the various planes
the idea of making the surfaces converse with each other, left more “window openings” -> like in lina bo bardi’s sesc pompeia “spanish civil war holes”
qualities of the triangle -> the fact that its edges could literally point -> engage between the spaces

soa’s parts articuating its function…

staircase as a transitory space that we rarely notice… it is a space focused on movement, a space that acts as a symbol for the passage of time
each layer represents a different point in time joined by the metal railing: central—8 a.m.; middle—4 p.m.; last—9 p.m.

part of the fun of princeton: the battle of the styles, the paradox of architectural styles arising from different historical planning phases over the years
the campus as a lego set open to interpretation
constant unexpected repositioning
campus is built upon the campus, layers that survive, new buildings on top of the foundation
creating vistas -> spaces for lingering

the architecture of the future doesn’t have to be orthogonal. it is virtual. how can we design for zero gravity?
